Herbs & Henna

Herbs and Henna are used in various ways. The spices that we use in our food preparation and the cosmetic item applied on the hands, palms, hairs come from different herbs. In India the most important plant tulsi is a herb. Millions of Hindu all over the world worship tulsi and consider it as goddess for its spiritual and medicinal value.

Herbs are plants highly valued for its flavor, scent, medical, spiritual, chemical, and industrial qualities. Its parts like leaves, flower, pods, corolla, roots, seeds, resin, root bark, inner bark (cambium), berries and sometimes the pericarp etc are used in cooking, as medicines.
Apart from tulsi, a very popular herb is henna. Largely known for its cosmetic properties, it is very popular for its colour, smell and for its capability of coloring hair even. India has different traditions just like henna is mainly used in applying on hands at the occasion of marriages, and festivals. Henna is even considered as a sign of married or would be married girls..!!
